Car Insurance Ford (Car Insurance). Someone please explain to the rules of a moped?Someone please explain to the rules of a moped? Okay so i'm moving thirty minutes away from my boyfriend i'm 15 years old and i'm like really distraught about it so my parents told me they would get me a moped or something so I could just go see him whenever I want. (p.s. we've been dating for a year and a half so they understand) The moped is great on gas and blah blah blah. But okay from what I understand: Texas state law says that I need a motorcycle license to operate a moped if its over 50cc and in order to get that i'll need- My permit (which is $365) Take a motorcycle safety course (which is $190) Take a written exam (which is around $20) but what I don't understand stand is my moped will be 50cc but when I talked to all the people on the phone they all said I still need to do ALL of that ^^ And yea I know the prices are a little irrelevant but COME ON! $575 just to get my motorcycle license plus the $500-700 I'll spend on the moped. But it will help with the gas prices cause it'll cost about 3 grand a year if I only see him 3 times a week if I drive but anyways yea it'll be cheaper. ANYWAYS...My question is: How does a 15 year legally drive a 50cc moped? What are the steps I need to take? & About how long will the whole process take considering it would be my first priority? First check with Texas DMV for the UNDER 50cc moped rules. In Iowa that size can be ridden by 14 year olds that pass the written permit test on rules of road. In some states that size doesn't require a drivers license - reason the drunks with revoked licenses in Ohio and Colorado ride them. SO, looks like a $20.00 written exam may get you a permit good for the 49cc rigs restricted to 30mph like here in Wisconsin and rest of training costs MIGHT not be required. Verify moped class- in New Jersey the 'Mopeds' require operating bicycle pedals and are limited to 20mph top speed-- but are otherwise treated as bicycles and can use bicycle paths and lanes, sidewalks if marked. In the uk you can drive a moped at 16 on a provisininol lisence as long as it's under50cc Auto parts : Window Latch Acura 1995 . Window Regulator Tape Alfa Romeo 1996 . Ford . Can I Mix Water With My Radiator Liquid?Yes. If your engine is overheating and you've got a bottle of water in your car, don't hesitate to pour the water in. It may help you avoid seriously damaging your engine. Antifreeze What you pour in your car radiator depends on the manufacturer's recommendations and whether or not you live in a cold winter climate. Most cars take a mixture of water and glycol coolant commonly called antifreeze. The mixture has a higher boiling point than plain water and can cool your engine more efficiently. Water Alone Water alone will do in an emergency, but as soon as possible you should add in the recommended coolant. Troubleshooting If your dashboard gauge reads hot, pull over immediately before further damaging your engine. Broken fan belts, leaking hoses, punctured radiators and failed water pumps are some of the common causes of overheated engines. These can be fixed at relatively low cost. Continuing to drive an overheated engine, assuming it continues to work, can melt some of the internal parts. Warning If you are on the side of the road with an overheated engine, don't open the water reservoir without first placing a dry cloth over the cap. Ease it open to let the steam slowly escape. If you open it suddenly without a cloth, you could give yourself a painful steam burn. Also, animals think poisonous coolant tastes yummy. Flush or dry up any spills after filling your radiator to keep pets safe.
Ford . How to Put Coolant in a CarPart of owning a car is maintaining it so it continues to run. Whether you're adding coolant as a proactive measure to avoid engine troubles, or you have found your car overheating due to lack of adequate coolant, putting coolant in a car is a fairly straightforward task. Using safety precautions and the right tools, you'll be able to change the coolant in your car with little effort. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Safety goggles Safety gloves Rag or towel Heavy-duty funnel Coolant (also known as antifreeze) Step by Step : 1 Open your car's hood and prop it safely open. If the engine is still hot, leave the hood open for several hours to allow the engine to cool down before attempting to add coolant. 2 Examine the hood's contents, paying close attention to the front of the car where you'll find the radiator. Locate the coolant, also called the antifreeze, reservoir. It is usually a white container with a metal or black screw-on lid, located near the radiator. Put on safety goggles and gloves to avoid injury. 3 Use a rag to turn the lid counter clockwise slowly to unscrew it, allowing air to escape a little at a time. Though you may be tempted to unscrew the lid quickly, resist the urge as the coolant can bubble up and badly burn you. 4 Locate the line near the top of the reservoir that indicates the maximum liquid level. Place a funnel inside the reservoir and slowly add coolant until the liquid reaches the "max" line. 5 Place the cap back on the coolant reservoir and firmly tighten it by turning it clockwise. 6 Close your hood and restart your engine. You have now successfully put coolant in your car. If you still encounter issues with your car overheating, have it checked by a mechanic. It could be your temperature gauge, head gasket, radiator or another serious problem. Tips & Warnings Refer to your car's owner's manual before attempting to put coolant in it. The manual may have tips for your specific car on how to add coolant. Do not attempt to add coolant when the engine is still hot. Wait until it has cooled considerably to avoid injury. In a pinch, water can be added to the coolant reservoir during hot months. Avoid adding water in winter months, however, as it will freeze and cause damage. Never stand directly over the reservoir when adding coolant, as the liquid may be hot and could cause injury. Avoid breathing in the gasses that emit from the coolant reservoir. Clean any spilled coolant off of the ground. It is highly toxic and deadly to animals who are likely to consume it. Store coolant up high and out of reach of children and pets. *8. Apply the paint, covering the surface of the spot completely, working inward from the edges. If you're painting a scratch or a very small area, you can cut down the brush or use a matchstick or toothpick instead. The paint should be no thicker than the surrounding surface or it will show, run, bubble, or peel off. 9. Wait several days for everything to dry completely, and then polish the car to blend in the painted area and bring everything to a high gloss. 10. Give the car a coat of wax or polymer to protect your hard work. Chapter 23 has instructions for polishing and waxing. 1085

If the interior or trunk gets wet when you wash the car or when it rains, use a garden hose to locate the areas on the weather-stripping that have been letting the water in. If the car windows whistle when you drive with them closed, check the weather-stripping for the cause of the sound effects. (If you notice leaks under the car, see Chapter 20 for ways to find the source and end the problem.) Ford . How many Liters of paint to paint a car?
Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Extended Cab. * If the weather-stripping is old, dried, cracked, or worn, you can probably buy a whole new piece designed for your vehicle's year, make, and model at your dealer's service department. To install new weather-stripping, follow these steps: 1. Check to see whether the new weather-stripping is the same as the old piece you're replacing. The piece should be the same shape and thickness and should have holes, channels, and rubber studs on the inner side that match the ones on the original. 2. Remove any screws and gently peel off the old weather-stripping, prying any rubber studs out of the holes they're inserted in without damaging the paint or scratching the metal window trim. If the weather-stripping is hard to remove, spray weather-stripping remover around the area and wait until the adhesive softens before continuing. 3. Use weather-stripping remover to remove any old adhesive that remains on the frame after the seal is gone. 4. Insert the new weather-stripping into the frame to make sure that it fits the holes and contours of the frame. Then gently remove it. Ford .
